Tokaj, Hungary

Tokaj, Hungary
Tokaj is located in northeastern Hungary. Its misty mornings followed by sunny afternoons is perfect for the development of noble rot (Botrytis cinerea), essential for its world-famous Tokaji Aszú wines.
Tokaji Aszú was once called the "Wine of Kings, King of Wines" and was beloved by royalty like Louis XIV and Catherine the Great.
Tokaj is one of the world’s oldest classified wine regions, officially established in 1737.
The term “Aszú” refers to the shriveled, botrytized grapes used to make these rich, honeyed wines.
