Wine Recipe: “Shaken and Not Stirred”

Wine Recipe: “Shaken and Not Stirred”

Do you know which drink is famously “shaken and not stirred”? That's right! It’s James Bond’s signature Vesper Martini.

Myth: Typically, bartenders don’t shake a Martini. Shaking aerates the drink, making it colder and slightly more diluted than stirring—qualities that traditional Martini drinkers usually avoid.

So, why does Bond prefer it shaken?

"Some say Bond needs to stay alert during work."

"Others suggest it’s a code for the bartender."

"Some believe the shaken style was trendy when the book was written."

Regardless, the Vesper Martini has become Bond's most iconic drink.

And, you might be surprised, the Vesper  Martini can be whipped up in just 5 minutes!

Ingredients:

- 45ml gin
- 15ml vodka
- 10ml white vermouth
- Ice cubes
- Lemon zest as the garnish
