Introducing the Agave

Agave

Agave, the plant used to make tequila, is native to Mexico and resembles aloe vera.

Some said that the agavins in Agave are natural sugar, which may aid weight loss without raising blood sugar levels, making them suitable for diabetics.

However, Nutritists explain that although the agave nectar contains fructans that may help control blood sugar, commercial products are often heavily processed, breaking down fructans into concentrated fructose, excess intake can still raise risks on liver and other health issues.

Flavor

Tequila, a type of mezcal, must be made from the blue agave plant in a specific Mexican region. Compared to other mezcals, tequila has a less robust flavor, making it a popular choice for mixed drinks.
